Question:

My Nintendo DS says that there is no compatible access point in range.

Question originally asked by bountycloud (1645) on Oct 30, 2006 at 4:46pm (Eastern Time)

Answer:

In order to connect to Nintendo WiFi you must ensure that you are near a compatible access point.

An access point can be a wireless router. Go into your settings and see if a router can automatically be detected. If not, contact your network administrator to obtain the information needed to manually set this up.

The Nintendo WiFi USB Adaptor can be your access point. If you don't have a wireless router, then you can purchase a Nintendo WiFi USB Adaptor and plug it in to a computer that already has access to high speed internet.

A Hot Spot can be your access point. Many McDonalds locations throughout the U.S. are compatible access points. You can try visiting your local McDonalds to see if you can connect from there.

Also, ensure that you are trying to connect to a high speed access point. Nintendo WiFi will not work with slow connections or dial-up access.
